16 projects worth over $5.1bn to be proposed to foreign investors
(Minews) - Iranian Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) announced on Monday that 16 projects worth $5,173,000 will be proposed to foreign investors in 1st Int'l Conference on Investments in Mines and Mining industries.

According to the announcement, the projects will be offered to foreign investors by the Persian Gulf Mining Industries Special Zone which is affiliated to the IMIDRO.

The Persian Gulf Mining Industries Special Zone located in Iran's southern port city of Bandar Abbas with various privileges is an ideal location for energy consuming industries.

The top three projects in need of greatest investments are production of steel blocks with $975 million, construction of 1,000 megawatt power plant with $900 million, and aluminum block production with $825 million.

The 1st International Conference on Investments in Iranian Mines and Mining industries is schedule to be held in Tehran from May 31 to June 1.

The land allocated to 16 projects of the Persian Gulf Mining Industries Special Zone is 514 hectares.

Four of the projects are related to steel and iron ore industries, three to aluminum blocks and lower industries, two to power plants each capable of generating 500 megawatts of electricity, a water desalination plant, and an imports and exports jetty.

Two workshops allocated to manufacturing mechanical parts and repairs and maintenance, too, will be constructed in the Persian Gulf Mining Industries Special Zone.
