New cement project launched in Damghan
(Minews) - The construction of a cement plant has begun in the northern city of Damghan in Semnan Province, jointly financed by a Chinese company and Iran’s Bank of Industry and Mine. Tooyeh Darvar cement plant has the capacity to produce up to 3,300 tons of type II Portland cement per day, Mehr News Agency reported. Investment of about 3.5 trillion rials ($106 million at official exchange rates) is required to make the project operational within the next 30 months, said the factory’s owner, Farshad Sabri.

“The construction of mill, crusher, cement silos and kilns has already started,” he said. Proximity to limestone reserves is a major advantage for the factory, according to Sabri. The cement plant is expected to create 700 direct jobs and 3,000 indirect jobs.
